Derek began his hunting career on his family farm in central Virginia. This is where the passion for hunting and fishing began. From shooting squirrels with a .410 in the hard woods of Virginia to chasing those brute-bodied bucks of the Midwest, Derek has traveled to many states living out his passion for God’s creation of the outdoors. Derek now resides in Southwest Virginia, where he pursues deer, turkey, predators, and running rabbits with dogs in the mountains of his home state with his wife, Kandra. However, the ultimate thrill for Derek is calling in those springtime long beards. Striving to become the best woodsman he can possibly be, he says God has given us the gift of His Creation and he’s going to enjoy every minute of it. Genesis 1:26
